The Order of Saint George the Martyr held their annual Investiture Ceremony on 20th May 2023 at Great St. Mary’s Church, Cambridge.
Honoured guests that attended the ceremony were the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, Dame Polly Courtice and her husband Dr Giles, the High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire Dr Bharatkumar Khetani, and his wife Pritty.
And given our historical connection with Naples, we were especially privileged to welcome the Italian Consul General, Dr Domenico Bellantone and his wife Dr Maria.
At this year’s Investiture Ceremony, we invested one new knight Nicholas Buckland and three Dames, Lynn Dowson, Patsy Glazebrook and Diana Smith.
The Order is a registered charity and one of our most important functions today is to raise funds for good causes and a cheque for £2000 was presented to the Sick Children’s Trust at the Hilton Hotel where we held out luncheon.
King Charles III sent everyone involved his best wishes.
